What Is NJ TIP Inc.?
NJ TIP Inc. is a private non-profit organization that was formed in 2007 specifically to offer travel instruction in New Jersey. We teach individuals how to use the public bus and rail systems so they can travel independently throughout the state.
Prior to starting NJ TIP Inc., the NJ TIP model was developed and tested by NJ TRANSIT and Small & Associates, Inc. during a two-year pilot program.
NJ TIP travel instructors are highly qualified college graduates with professional experience in special education and/or social services. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable public transit riders who strongly believe in equal rights for persons with disabilities.
